Spirituality of Sleep

A Restorative Sleep Workshop
November 15-17, 2024
Auburn, California

Do you really want to sleep? Our invisible sleep and waking rhythms influence how we feel, what we do, and affect our relationships. This program provides practical skills that honor our body’s natural clocks that guide us toward deep and restful sleep while also honoring sleep as a sacred practice we can learn to do better. Sleep can be transformed from a struggle of deprivation to a nurturing and restorative rhythm. Learn details about sleep architecture, how to navigate challenging sleep terrain, and how to align our daily patterns to bring ourselves fully and creatively to each new dawn.

“To protect what is wild is to protect
what is gentle.
Perhaps the wildness we fear is the pause between our own heart beats,
the silent space that says we live
only by grace.
Wildness, wilderness lives by
this same grace,
wild mercy is in our hands.
Let this be our prayer, reimagined.”
-Terry Tempest Williams

Healing Our Healers

Self-care is never a selfish act. It is simply good stewardship of the only gift I have, the gift I was put on earth to offer others.

~Parker Palmer

When it's too much:

  • Find your grounding amid the demands and the chaos

  • Tend to pressing problems with grace and boundaries in place

  • Lighten the weight of responsibility that is not your own

  •  Embrace discrepancies between personal & occupational values

Practices to sustain us:

  • Connect with and attend to the heart of the matter

  • Establish a healthy pace in the rapidly changing environment

  • Break patterns of heavy-heartedness and restlessness

  • Deepen the call and purpose of your work and your life
